This Hotel is a Gem in the best area of Paris. Balcony looks up to Place Vendome. Walk to everything. Excellent Concierge & staff. The Lotti is the perfect home away from home. Formidable & Merci......Thom

Yes, it's pretty darn touristy now, what with the waiters with the little suspenders over the striped fisherman's shirt: ouch. Back in the day, just a nice, unpretentious place to nurse your cafe noisette and ponder the sunset over Buci.
  • La Palette, maestrorob (guest) wrote 16 years ago:
The Palette is a wonderful neighborhood bar. Pretty upscale clientele these days, but we used to go here after theater shows at Galerie 55, just down the street on Rue de Seine: great memories await you here. And keep an eye out for the gruffest waiter in town, a real pro!

For a nice photo op...after entering, find the stairs that leads to the 2nd floor. Go to the front room of the second floor and through the open window you can photo Notre Dame that's across the street.

  • La Tour d'Argent, El_Ingles wrote 17 years ago:
The unbelievable prices at this wonderful restaurant keep all but the very wealthiest French people away. If you dine here, you will be among rich Americans and Japanese.
  • Café de Flore, El_Ingles wrote 17 years ago:
Like its neighbour the 2 Magots, this once interesting café/brasserie has capitulated to the vulgar, loud-mouthed and francophobe Americans. If you want the experience of a Paris café, avoid this place at all costs.
