It's a bit dangerous place. Don't try to pick up a blonde lulu here. Local niggers will clobber you if you don't have time to mizzle.

  • Abbey Ste. Marie de Paris, david giddings (guest) wrote 10 years ago:
I was a welcome guest at the Abbey in the summer of 1956 on a hitch-hiking lone pilgrimage to Lourdes with only 10 pounds sterling my pocket. I was graciously received by the Guest Master, (Père Joubert), and the days passed so quickly in that wonderful atmosphere, attending the Masses and Liturgies with the superb chanting. The community was large in those days. It is described now as a 'small community' whjch makes me sad. One day I would love to return before I die to re-live that deep spiritual experience as a 16 year-old convert toi the faith, into which I was received on Christmas Eve 1956 in Northampton, GB. I am now 75 and living and teaching in Sylhet Bangladesh, but will return home next year. Your prayers are earnestly requested for that 'small' and unforgettable community and for me.
